    A BJTC-accredited one year Web Journalism Masters course at an award-winning journalism school. Core modules included researching news, law for journalists, ethics and regulation, understanding the institutions of government, global and online journalism.
    Summer dissertation project titled: ‘Exploring open data, data journalism and technology reporting’ (75%). Built Sheffield’s first and only local tech news website, SteelData, amassing over 3,500 views in its first month and ranking 6th in Google rankings for ‘tech start-ups Sheffield’.
    Web Editor for Sheffield’s lifestyle webzine, ShefLife, achieving over 3,000 views in 30 days. Regular writer for the university’s ForgePress newspaper, pioneering the Technology section.

    A three year multi-disciplined computer science course, blending business management, mechanical engineering and mathematics with computing at a top 10 computer science department. Supported by the Department for Education’s eSkills UK and endorsed by worldwide blue-chip technology firms, from Cisco to IBM.
    Learnt elements of systems analysis and design, human computer interaction, database technology, mainframe computing and undertook a number of client-driven software projects, as well as working within the country’s first university-run software development company, epiGenesys.
    Final year dissertation focused on: ‘Exploring human generosity using social networking designs and techniques’ (75%). Built four websites to form my online experiment, investigating whether social networking features affected altruism.
